To avoid corrosion due to moisture invading the shielding the shield and junction with the center connector was covered with "shrink wrap." A heat gun was used to provide the required heat. If you don't have one you can use a hair dryer set to its' hottest setting.

The "shrink wrap" may be considered "over-kill" because the entire antenna will be encapsulated in epoxy glue.
