C-GAUZ

At one time this sailplane was fitted out with a retractable engine that was subsequently removed. The engine reenforcements are still in the fuselage. Although the engine bay is covered with aluminum now, it could easily be used to retrofit an new style engine.

These are old pictures taken prior to Solair Canada's professional installation of winglets and instrument panel.

Like N16VP and N8DC the wings have the original machined spar and top hinged ailerons.

The new instrument panel holds a Borgelt 40 variometer, Filser ATR57 VHF radio, ASI, altimeter and mecanical variometer. The cockpit also has a Swan-neck mike.

Though being enthusiastic about owning C-GAUZ, for the past several years I have been unable to do any flying. (2008)
