This is a center-fed half wave dipole made out of RG-58 cable. It is suitable for aircraft with a fiberglass or wood vertical stabilizer.

This series of picture were taken during construction and installation in PIK-20 serial number 2. The newer PIK-20s have factory installed antennas.

The performance of this antenna showed a marked increase when compared with the "make-shift" ground plane installed in the fuselage next to the wheel-well. Across the aviation VHF communication frequencies the SWR varied from 1.25:1 to 1.75:1.
